I’ve been married for over 20 years, have four kids, and babysit a bunch of others. Since they all must eat, I have a lot of recipes and techniques under my belt. I’m not a gourmet cook by any means– I’m a simple gal with simple tastes and a simple budget– just like you.
I started this blog as a way to build and organize my own recipes and techniques, for my own resources; but also this is created in the hopes that any reader can glean tidbits, too. My recipes are simple, budget-conscious, very nutritious, and popular (at least, with my family). I don’t use a lot of spices and fancy ingredients. I have a few small kitchen appliances that I use– but I will never have a recipe that calls for a fancy $800 flambe pan or a $600 super-duper cake pan or anything. Most of my recipes are with everyday ingredients and everyday appliances.
You will benefit most from this site if you:
- are budget-conscious
- feed a family (especially a large family, but my recipes are easily halved or doubled
- do not like to buy fancy tools or appliances to cook
- like to cook with easily-available foods
- hate to search specialty shops for fancy ingredients, spices, or foods
- do not like to feed your family sugary, processed foods
All my recipes are very customizable, too. I often offer suggestions for altering this-or-that to make it more palatable to your family.
Easy is probably the best way to describe the recipes found here. Easy to make, easy on the budget, and easy to customize. Because I don’t know about you, but I like to spend SOME time out of the kitchen doing other things, too!!
Enjoi.
